POLICE ASSET KILLED, COMPANION HURT IN ATTACK

A police asset was killed, while his companion was hurt in an attack allegedly perpetrated by two armed men Barangay Linao, Talisay City last Monday. Leonil Bacalso, 28, died from gunshot wounds in the head and body. His companion, Louie Monreal, 38, was hit in the left leg. Senior Insp. Albert Quilitorio, Talisay City deputy police chief, said Bacalso and Monreal were reportedly sniffing shabu inside a shanty at 10 a.m. last Monday when the attack happened. Bacalso was reportedly a police asset; Monreal is an enforcer under the City of Talisay Traffic Operations Development Authority (CTTODA). CTTODA chief Almond Dela Peña said he will terminate Monreal’s contract of employment following the incident.
