Where is Cameron Diaz?

-

Whatever happened to Cameron Diaz?

She's alive and well. She just needed time to herself and for her husband Benji Madden.

Diaz was among the panelists in the Goop Wellness Summit last Saturday. Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow, a good friend of Diaz's, moderated the summit. Of course, Diaz's absence from Hollywood was brought up.

"I just went, 'I can't really say who I am to myself.' Which is a hard thing to face up to. I felt the need to make myself whole," the 44-year-old actress told the summit.

Diaz was joined in the panel by designer Tory Burch, model Miranda Kerr, and reality star and designer Nicole Richie, who is Diaz's sister-in-law. Richie is married to Joel Madden, Benji's twin brother. Both are members of Good Charlotte.

Paltrow also asked Diaz: “Cameron, you got married later. What was it that kept you from getting married until you were 40?”

“Forty-one,” corrected Diaz with her signature smile. "I think it's a matter of I just hadn't met my husband, you know? I had boyfriends before. And there's a really, really distinct difference between husbands and boyfriends. And I have a husband who is just my partner in life and in everything. We are so different from one another, but we share the same values. We are both just weird enough for each other."

"We women are objectified so much. Somehow my husband has just been able to kind of show me what it's like not to have that be a part of a relationship, and being an equal," Diaz added.

Her last project was the 2014 musical Annie with Jamie Foxx, Rose Byrne, Bobby Cannavale and Quvenzhane Wallis. She has no projects lined up this year.
