Primary Home Run to stage 7th edition in July
The Primary Group of Builders will stage the seventh edition of the Primary Home Run dubbed as Run, Dance and Conquer, Run to Build Their Future set on July 2 at the Cebu Business Park.
The beneficiaries of the run are the scholars of Primary Structures Educational Foundation, Inc. (Psefi) which is under the Primary Group’s School of Knowledge for Industrial Labor, Leadership and Services (Skills) program.
“For this year we are looking to help 20 scholars and our focus is on the senior high. We’re giving opportunity for Grade 11 to 12 students to enroll with free tuition,” said Paulette Liu, the COO of Psefi-Skills, during yesterday’s press conference.
Maritess Requina, the execu- tive director of Psefi-Skills, said that they had raised P400,000 from the fun run last year. The proceeds was used to assist 35 students who are taking up masonry, carpentry and housekeep- ing courses.
Marketing supervisor Gladys Cabañero said that since they started raising funds in 2015 through the fun run, they have assisted more than 100 deserving scholars.
The fun run features the same categories as last year—the men’s and women’s 12-kilometer, 6K and 3K. All the finishers in the 12K will receive finishers’ medal, while finishers’ tag for the 6K. Cash prizes will be given to the winners in all divisions.
The 12K champion will pocket P4,000, second place will get P3,000, P2,000 for third place and P500 for fourth and fifth placers. The Top 3 in the 6K and 3K will also receive cash prizes. All the participants will also get a chance to win exciting prizes in the raffle draw.
Race director Joel Baring of Sports and Fitness Enthusiasts (Safe) said that they’re expecting about 2,000 runners for the race.
