Kids in ads

One of Gerald Anderson's endearing traits as a showbiz personality is his warmth and friendliness.

When he and Can We Still Be Friends co-star came to Cebu last week, Gerald displayed the same countenance despite having a nasty cold. Arci Muñoz is also a bubbly interviewee.

She admitted that nobody from showbiz dared court her. She presumes that is because she acts like a "dude" in the company of friends.

*** Two commercials of consumer products have recently caught my fancy that I drop anything I do when these ads go on air. These ads star two cute youngsters who, at their tender age, effectively did justice to their jobs.

One is a chubby boy in a fabric conditioner commercial who refuses to be kissed by his aunts, and so he did his best to be too sweaty to be kissed. I find the kid's facial expression and chubbiness endearing.

The other kid is the last of a series of children who express their reaction after drinking a popular milk brand. He was about to say something but was interrupted by his burp.

His smile for me spoke a thousand words and his total expression made him stand out. Given enough attention and training, these two kinds might prove to be their generation's top matinee idols in the future.

*** I'm one of the many followers of Boy Abunda and Vice Ganda, both for their wit, spontaneity, confidence and eloquence. However, I observed that lately, they have been wearing clothes that make them look ridiculous.

Yes, they have to honor their designer-sponsors but they have to be careful in choosing their clothes because they are respected and idolized by millions.
