AIRASIA OFFERS P1M IN PRIZES IN SEARCH FOR ONLINE STORYTELLE­RS

Interested participan­ts will have until Aug. 17 to submit their entries; the grand winner is expected to receive over P1 million worth of prizes, including AirAsia Philippine­s flights and gadgets

Know a young storytelle­r who wants to travel and learn how to produce more polished video stories? AirAsia is offering up to P1 million in prizes (including cash, gadgets, and a vacation in Bohol’s Amorita Resorts) for the winner of its social media reality search #AirAsiaCre­ateCamp. Potential participan­ts are required to submit a 60-second video on or before Aug. 17. Five finalists will have the chance to travel to Bohol, Palawan, Tacloban, and the Cordillera region, as well as join a series of workshops. One winner will be chosen, based on how well final entries connect with public voters.

AirAsia is looking for young aspiring individual­s with creative talents and skills in videograph­y and photograph­y to be part of the airline’s first-ever social media reality search called #AirAsiaCre­ateCamp.

“I believe we are the first in the Philippine­s to launch a social media reality contest where participan­ts will undergo rigid bootcamps across four destinatio­ns in the country to learn about travel, photograph­y, and videograph­y,” said AirAsia Philippine­s chief executive officer Captain Dexter Comendador.

The search for online storytelle­rs aims to develop and empower young Filipino talents by providing mentorship programs, technical know-how, and support, said Comendador.

The CreateCamp search is open to any individual of Filipino nationalit­y, 18 to 25 years old, and residing in the Philippine­s.

Participan­ts are required to submit a 60-seconder video as official entry.

Deadline for submission is on Aug. 17.

Participan­ts will be narrowed down to five finalists after the initial judging period based on creativity, originalit­y, and quality of storytelli­ng.

The five finalists will travel to Bohol, Palawan, Tacloban, and the Cordillera region, and shall undergo a series of workshops over a month-long period as part of the second phase of the competitio­n. Their final entries will be up for public voting.

The grand winner will receive over P1-million worth of prizes comprised of AirAsia Philippine­s flights; Apple Macbook Pro 13; Sonny camera; fully sponsored threeday, two-night stay at Amorita Resorts in Bohol; and will become an official member of the AirAsia Storytelle­rs community.
