Dayot, Arevalo, Bedel win MIGC 25th anniv. golf tourney
The troika of Jun Dayot, Boboy Arevalo and Warren Bedell snagged the team's overall title of the Mactan Island Golf Club (MIGC) 25th Anniversary Golf Tournament last Aug. 5 at the club's layout in Lapu-Lapu City.
Dayot scored 44 points, Arevalo added 33 and Bedell chipped in 31 for the team's total score of 108.
In Division A, the trio of Junjun Cabajar, Brigadier Gen. Bam Jamorabo and Harry Cabajar put up 106 points to win the top honors. Harry topscored for the team with 39, Jun-Jun shot 35 and Jam- orabo fired 32.
The team of Baltaire Balangauan, Dominic Gotiong and Atty. Nilo Seno finished second with 101 points. Balangauan had 35, Gotiong added 34 and Seno finished with 32 points.
Tomoyoshi Miyazaki, Yoshio Kimpara and Tohru Igarashi had 107 points and won via countback against the other team to pocket the Division B diadem. Miyazaki scored 40, Kimpara had 34 and Igarashi handed 33.
The runner-up team had Jojo Burao (37), Peter Tjia (36) and Marcelo Fagel (34).
In division C, the squad of Ben Ngujo (39), Cesar Salimbangon (30) and Adong Go (29) won the title with a total of 98 points and also from via countback.
The runner-up team comprised Dr. Samuel Mendero (46), Asterio Galola (34) and Lauris dela Peña (18).
The winners of the special awards were Harry Cabajar (longest drive), Marcelo Fagel (most accurate drive), Miyazaki Tomoyshi (nearest the pin hole) and Grace Quintanilla (longest putt hole).
