DUTERTE'S SHORT VISIT IN CEBU

President Duterte visited Cebu City Saturday (Aug. 19), stayed only for two hours or so and left, He was here to visit the wake of a relative of his partner Honeylet.

That is true, according to a reliable source. A story of the visit didn’t land in the local papers Sunday and Monday. One broadcaster though, Jason Monteclar of dyCM radio, talked about it in his commentary program yesterday.

What is rumor, which can also be true, is that the president didn’t inform even his point man in the Visayas. Maybe because of the shortness of the visit.

Another source said there could be a change in the wind’s direction. A recent Admin. Order #5 dated Aug. 10 placed the Cabinet secretary at the top of the force on the Yolanda corridor rehab. But the presidential asst. for Visayas and p.a. on special concerns are co-chairmen.

ANTI-YELLOW FISCAL

Prosecutor Darwin Cañete, one of Caloocan City’s asstistant prosecutors, is embroiled in controversy again for saying in a media interview that Kian de los Santos, the 17-yearold gun-shooting victim in a drug-related incident in that city, might not be as innocent as he was being depicted.

Sen. Franklin Drilon questioned the fiscal’s “frame of mind” and said he shouldn’t be handling the criminal case that would arise from the killing of Kian.

Cañete shouldn’t also be handling any case involving an Aquino supporter. His Facebook post last June 13 also kicked up a storm when he waved his hatred of “yellows” who root for Cory and Noynoy Aquino (see quote).
