Team 6 rules PSB team tournament

Team 6 banked on a strong start and a solid finish to rule the Philippine Senior Bowlers (PSB-Cebu Chapter) Team Tournament 2017 at the Gaisano Bowlingple­x last Sunday.

Team 6’s George Tesch, Nestor Ranido, Celis Viloria and Aui Padawan combined for 3,387 points in a four game-series to fashion out a 10-point win over Team 8, which is composed of Vivian Padawan, Inday Aguilar, Clarence Tiu and Arthur Tapaya.

Team 9’s Bede Ilano, Clifford Tan, Luther Tapaya and Xyrra Cabusas finished at third place with 3,303 points.

Team 6 scored 840, 941, 758 and 848 in four rounds, with Viloria leading the team in the first round with 198. Padawan was the highest pointer in the next three games with 235, 186 and 201.

In the singles event, Vivian Padawan won with 887, beating Thonz Williams (874) and Arthur Tapaya (873).

On the other hand, PSBC will host the 1st PSBC 50 Eliminator Challenge on Nov. 21 to 25 at the same venue. Egay Alqueza of PSB-Cebu Chapter said that the event, which will be for 50-above players, will have bowlers from Metro Manila, Cavite, Lipa City, Angeles, Dagupan, Davao, Bacolod, Iloilo, Zamboanga and Cebu.

The five-day bowling tournament will shell out over P150,000 worth of prizes, with the champion bowler earning P50,000. The second placer will get P25,000, while the third placer will earn P12,500. /
