TEAM PARILLA WINS 17TH ISLAND TEE
Major. Gen. Nick Parilla’s team scores 200 to rule 17th MIGC Island Tee
The team of Major General Nick Parilla bagged the coveted overall crown in the 17th Island Tee, which ended Sunday at the Mactan Island Golf Club in LapuLapu City.
Parilla, commander of the Mactan-based Air Mobility Command, combined forces with Retired Colonel Elvis Jequinto and Ronnel Sarigumba to win the title using the new three-man format of the tournament.
Parilla scored 31 and 26 points for a total of 57, Jequinto shot 32 and 34, while Sarigumba made 38 and 39 for a team total of 200 points in the Modified Stableford Scoring System.
The Division A title went to Chandran Rama (20-32), Junjun Cabajar (34-36), and Ariel Mangana (37-35) with 195 points.
Runner-up honors for the

premiere handicap class went to three young girls—Angela Mangana (28-31), Grace Quintanilla (3234), and Junia Gabasa (32-37)— who had a total of 194. All three are junior golf standouts with Gabasa having several stints as member of the Philippine team.
The awards ceremony was held Sunday night at the Crown Regency Mactan.
The team of Retired BGen Bam Jamorabo bagged the class B title. Jamorabo had 34 and 34, Youn Sung Hee scored 25 and 32 and Harry Cabajar had 34 and 32 for a total of 191 points.
Runner-up honors went to Nilo Reyes (30-33), Ashley Llena (32-29), and Jhana Abella (29-29), who had 182 points.
The Division C title went to Jang Young Bae (38-35), Ed Pedregosa (28-31), and Cho Kwang
Ronnel Sarigumba leads the field in individual honors
Sup (23-26) with a total of 181 points.
The four-day tournament required teams to play two rounds within the period.
For the individual honors, Sarigumba led the list of winners by amassing several trophies. He won the overall low gross title with scores of 33 and 34 as well as the best score of for two days for class A based on net scores with 77 points. He also had the best score of the first day and the second day of the tournament for his handicap class.
Mike Ambat bagged the highest total for the regular division with 74 (36-38) while Jeon Chan Koog topped the seniors’ division with 68 (31-37). Genelyn Inot was best among the ladies with 55 (2926) and Junia Gabasa was the top jungolfer with 69 (32-37). /
