ZAMBOANGA / MAN POSES AS MILITARY

A man impersonating as a military officer with the rank of a captain was arrested and detained for extortion in Zamboanga City. Arrested was Raymond Candido Julian, who introduced himself as the commanding officer of the Army’s Light Reaction Company (LRC) and a member of the Philippine Military Academy class of 2006. Police said Julian was arrested and turned over to Police Station 8 around 11 a.m. Monday. Julian’s identity was uncovered after he “acted discourteously to a senior officer” when the real LRC commanding officer confronted him.
