Dazzling Christmas at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino

- MARYMIL M. CABRERA / Writer

It’s the most wonderful month of the year. The countdown has started from hearing Christmas carols wherever one goes to seeing Christmas lights and putting up the Christmas tree which represents life and rebirth.

Like most of the traditions all over the world, putting up a Christmas tree is one of the most awaited preparations of the holidays. At the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino, it is an annual tradition. For this year, the hotel has gone for a 30-foot-tall dazzling Christmas tree meticulously decorated with different pieces of green, white, candy cane colored and gold Christmas balls complemented by glittering gold decor which brings instant joy and happiness for a shining, shimmering Holidays.

Gracing the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel’s annual Christmas Tree Lighting last Nov. 17 at the hotel’s gem—the Grand Lobby—were hotel manager Anders Hallden, Cebu City Councilor Margot Osmeña, the hotel’s corporate social responsibility beneficiary, the children of Kapwa Ko, Mahal Ko and the University of Cebu Symphonic Orchestra with special performances by homegrown singer Jolianne Salvado and world-class performer Jed Madela.

Though the hotel is always in full swing of the season every year with different themes, this time it is adorned with layers of dazzling Christmas lights and ornaments that give a dose of holiday cheer to its guests and bring out the child in each and everyone. One should also not miss taking a picture while posing in front of the Christmas Village “ticket booth.”

Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino is one of the wellknown landmarks in the City of Cebu located on Salinas Drive, Lahug, Cebu City and the premier venue for events and conventions in the country.
