■ LAPU-LAPU CITY BUYS 2 P2.4M AMBULANCES, DENTAL HEALTH BUS

-

The Lapu-Lapu City Government acquired two new ambulances worth P2.4 million each. The City was also provided with a dental health bus by the Department of Health. A blessing ceremony of the ambulances and the dental health bus was conducted in front of City Hall last Thursday. Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Paz Radaza led the activity. City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (CDRRM) Officer Andy Berame said the ambulances are complete with equipment inside. Each ambulance has an automated external defibrillator, portable suction machine, laryngoscope, advanced cardiac life support, bag valve mask device and other medical supplies. The amount paid by the City Government already included the design of the ambulance. Berame said the supplier of the ambulances was Nissan Philippines Cebu. The budget for the purchase of these vehicles was taken from the CDRRM Office’s budget. “Part ni siya sa atong (This is part of our) disaster preparedness and response. Obligasyon ni nato (It is our obligation to purchase ambulances),” said Berame. The new emergency vehicles will be used by the CDRRM Office and the Lapu-Lapu District Hospital (LDH). Previously, there was only one ambulance of the City Government and it was assigned in the LDH. Berame said the ambulances and their personnel will be on standby for 24 hours. The dental health bus will be under the City Health Office. /
