Couples will be wed in a free civil wedding ceremony dubbed as “I Do, I Do Araw ng Pag–Ibig,” a nationwide activity sponsored by the Pag–Ibig Fund.

In Cebu, 150 couples will be joining the event, which will be hosted by Pag-Ibig Fund Mactan Branch in Lapu-Lapu City, in cooperation with its neighboring Mu- nicipal Government of Cordova.

The activity is aimed at helping Pag–Ibig Fund members who don’t have any budget to spend for their wedding and at the same time, legalize their union.

This free civil wedding is open to all Pag–Ibig Fund members who are single or even couples who have been cohabiting for five years or more, provided that they are already 24 years old or more.

The beneficiary couples will be given free ceremonial wedding rings, flower bouquet for the bride, free photo-op and they will also receive souvenir items from the agency.

They will also take part in a lottery of a “Kabuhayan” showcase that will be raffled off during the reception. Other than the “Kabuhayan” showcase, appliances and cash gifts will also be raffled off.

Last year, the Pag-Ibig Fund free mass wedding was held at the JCentre Convention Centre in Mandaue City, with Mayor Luigi Quisumbing as the solemnizing officer.

This year’s civil wedding rites will be held on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, 2018, at 3 p.m. in 10,000 Roses, a coffee shop in Barangay Day-as, Cordova, Cebu, with Mayor Mary Therese P. Sitoy-Cho as the solemnizing officer.
