Sentral halts operation
The Sentral Bar and Lounge on A.S. Fortuna St. in Mandaue City announced that they are closed until further notice as they are evaluating their operations.
Sentral and Club Hatchi, which are located on A.C. Cortes Ave., were ordered closed by the City Government due to several violations.
Last Friday, Sentral announced in their Facebook page that they will stop their operation for the meantime.
“The Panda Team is pausing operations for now. We are evaluating how we can give you the best service we can offer, committing to the safety of the city and most importantly the well-being of our patrons. As of the moment, we are closed until further notice,” the post reads.
Sentral was supposed to hold a Valentine’s Day event called “Drunk in Love” on Feb 14.
City Legal Officer Omar Redula said the closure order is permanent, unless they will ask the city mayor for reconsideration.
“That’s a signal to the other establishments that they better shape up,” he said.
Upon the recommendation of the City Legal Office, Mayor Gabriel Luis Quisumbing signed the closure order against the two establishments last Friday morning.
The order was served by Friday evening.
Sentral and Club Hatchi were closed when the closure order was served.
The City Government had said that Sentral violated a city ordinance when they held an event during last month’s Sinulog celebration without a permit.
As to Club Hatchi, police recorded high incidents of physical injuries in the area. /
