1. Always invest in good basics: White polo, black lazy dress, a pair of jeans, a pair of white pants, a pair of black pants, black flats, white sneakers and a neutral colored pair of sandals. These are the basic pieces for me that everyone should have in his wardrobe. The rest are just extras.

2. If you know your outfit is too plain, add some accessories for extra oomph! Don’t be afraid to wear jewelry like chunky necklaces, big earrings may it be tassels or looped ones, a statement bag or bright colored shoes. Accessories will save your life... I mean your outfit!

3. Always have extra small safety pins. I don’t know about you, but every time I shop online the sizes are always “free size” which means one size fits all. There are always going to be parts of the clothing that don’t fit you perfectly so having a small safety pin in hand is a good way for you to pin areas that need to be pinned.

4. If you have something similar to it in your wardrobe, don’t buy it! We all have a certain style we love but sometimes when we buy things that are similar to what we already have, we just end up having the same outfit or fewer outfit choices. Buy something different!

5. Never ask your guy about how your outfit looks. He is either going to lie and say you look good no matter what the outfit or he is going to say it sucks because he doesn’t want anyone else to notice you because he wants you all to himself. Trust your fashion instincts, girl. Also, when in doubt, check Pinterest.
