DUTERTE ORDERS ARREST OF BUS OPERATOR IN MINDORO CRASH

President Rodrigo Duterte has ordered the arrest of the operator of bus firm Dimple Star Transport, following the March 22 fatal road accident that involved one of its vehicles in Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro. As this developed, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board suspended Friday, March 23, the operations of Dimple Star Transport for 30 days, pending the investigation of the accident. Covered by the suspension order are 118 bus units, not only 10 as earlier reported.The Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group will apprehend Dimple Star buses that continue to operate. ”(Duterte) ordered the arrest of the operator (of the Dimple Star Bus),” Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go said Friday in a statement. The President went to Occidental Mindoro to inspect the crash site, as well as to extend his sympathies.
