WHAT MADE THE POP STAR CRY IN VEGAS SHOW?
Sarah Geronimo had the Twitterverse worried over her breakdown during a Las Vegas concert.
What happened? Geronimo was performing in Las Vegas for her “This 15 Me” concert celebrating her 15 years in showbiz last Sunday.
Geronimo became emotional talking about her 15 years in the industry. She admitted that sometimes she felt empty.
“Eto na po pala ‘yun (So this is it). It hit me,” Geronimo said at one point. “Yung mga napapanood ko po sa videos ni MJ
(Michael Jackson). Yung sigawan at kantahan ng mga tao. Minsan may naluluha pa, gusto ka mahawakan lang (I’ve seen videos of MJ where people are shouting and singing. Some of them crying,
wanting to just hold you.” “Grabe po. I realized na hindi
po pala ako handa dun (It was intense. I realized that I wasn’t ready for that),” the 29-year-old pop star said. “Ginusto ko pong maibahagi yung talento ko, pero hindi po pala ako handa dun sa mga kasama ng hiningi ko. (I wanted to share my talent, but I wasn’t ready for what came with what I asked for).”
“Lalo na po ‘yung pressure to always do good, maging role model ka, maging perpekto ka.
Mahirap po (Especially with the pressure to always do good, to become a role model, to be perfect. It’s difficult).”
As the video of Geronimo breaking down became viral, “We Love You Sarah G” trended on Twitter.
“Hindi ‘yung successful na shows o ‘yung mga hits ang makakapag-kumpleto sa ‘yo (It’s not the successful shows or the hits that would complete you),” Geronimo continued. “Ang makakapagpasaya sa ‘yo bilang isang tao, kundi ‘yung tunay na pagmamahal na hindi nagbabago, perpekto ka man o hindi (What will make you happy as a person is true love that won’t change, whether you are perfect or not).”
She couldn’t finish the song “Forever’s Not Enough” because she couldn’t contain her emotions. She walked out of the stage.
Geronimo eventually apologized multiple times, saying that she was tired but that she would try to survive the night because they had paid. She cried again when she met fans outside the concert venue.
