True and all-powerful God

What is Mr. Chito Germino thinking with his conclusions about God? He claims in his letter to SunStar Cebu to have read the Bible for the past 30-plus years, but he has the gall to say that God is imperfect. Here is the evidence against his claims, complete with Bible verses.

God is perfect. Jesus Christ says, “Be you therefore perfect, as also your heavenly Father is perfect” (Matthew 5:48). God is supreme over all of us and has no imperfections. Ironically, Mr. Germino erroneously claimed in a previous article that “there were many perfect and faultless people in the Bible,” so is he thinking that these people are greater than God?

God knows everything. He knows everything that has happened, is happening, and will happen. “You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar”(Psalm 139:2). Germino is wrong in claiming that God had to ask for reports from the prophets. It is God who sent them to preach His word and told them what to say.

God is everywhere. The Psalms say, “Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?If I ascend to heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, you are there” (Psalm 139:7-8). Where on earth did Germino get the idea that God can’t be everywhere?

Lastly, God is all-powerful. “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26). When we humans forget that God is the all-powerful One, we think that we can do it all ourselves or that we are the all-powerful ones.

Well handled traffic

Let us give credit where it is due. I would commend the Cebu Provincial Government and the Talisay City Government for handling well the repair of the Mananga Bridge 3.
