4 cops get help with stress over child’s death

-

Four drug enforcement unit (DEU) operatives are undergoing stress debriefing after the operation in Barangay Ermita, Cebu City last July 10 that killed four-year-old Skyler Abatayo.

“Gipa-stress debriefing silang tanan for their mental health. We do not know if it would affect decisions or their mental capability. Kahit papano, we are checking because when personnel undergo a traumatic incident, amo gud ipa (we give them) stress briefing,” Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 Director Chief Supt. Debold Sinas said in a press conference.

The four DEU personnel were reassigned to the holding unit of the PRO 7.

They were identified as PO3 Raydale Sardual, PO2 Dennis Estrada, PO1 Rey Dadula, and PO1 Wilbert Perez.

Sinas said that the stress debriefing period often lasts 15 days.

As for the probe that the Commission of the Human Rights (CHR) 7 started, Sinas said they have to get clearance from Camp Crame to release files.

“Ang standard guidelines galing sa Office of the President is that let the CHR conduct the investigation but we will not provide them without any other data na hindi clear sa taas (unless cleared by a higher office),” Sinas said.

Sinas welcomed the probe being conducted by the CHR 7 and National Bureau of Investigation 7. /
