It was fiesta time at the historic Pari-an district on the feast day of its patron saint, San Juan Bautista. Main action was at Casa Gorordo where a group of San Juan devotees gathered for a celebration. Frontliner was Josefa “Pepit” Revilles whose family used to own Casa Gorordo. Another celebration was at the nearby Yap-Sandiego home with Val and Boging Sandiego holding court.
○○○ Uniworld Boutique River Cruises hosted an afternoon merienda at Radisson Blu Cebu to introduce its river cruises to Cebu’s travel enthusiasts. Its Cebu connection was Destination Specialists with Marget Villarica and Suzette Gabutina as coordinators. They decided on a winter theme so the guests were requested to wear winter outfits.
Man of the hour was Henry Yu, manager-Asia of Uniworld, who came all the way from Singapore to talk about the Uniworld riverboats (five star) and their varied itineraries.
Meanwhile, Michal Prochazka, director of Czech Tourism, spoke on the attractions of Prague and other places in the Czech Republic.
Celebrate life! Travel...go on a river cruise! ○○○ Ayala Kiddo, a loyalty program for kids aged 12 and below, was launched by Ayala Center Cebu one Sunday in June. It gives members exclusive perks from partner stores and restaurants. The fun Safarithemed afternoon saw the kids taking part in an interactive musical as well as in DIY Safari Arts & Crafts and Zooarchaeol- ogy Excavation.

The Pacific Grand Ballroom of Waterfront Cebu City Hotel was the venue for the Top Accounts Appreciation Party of the two Waterfront hotels in Cebu. The annual celebration brought together the hotels’ top producers of the year. Playing hosts were Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino general manager Anders Hallden and Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino hotel manager Benhur Caballes.
