WATERFRONT’S UNO OFFERS 29 NEW ITEMS

New food items in the menu include 23 dishes and six desserts in small servings

-

In addition to Uno’s Filipino Food Festival of carefully curated innovations of the classic Filipino dishes, the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino will serve 23 new dishes that will surely leave taste buds craving for more.

Inspired mostly by the Maranao and Tausug cuisines that are popular with the Muslim community, celebrity chef Roland Laudico introduced his latest creations. Among them are the shrimp piaparan, a dish with a lot of curry spice and toasted coconut; and the beef kulma, which is an adoption of our usual beef korma, a dish influenced by the Malaysians.

There are also new twists with Visayan dishes such as the seafood ngohiong, consisting of four kinds of crispy seafood with ngohiong sauce and vegetables like the ubod and singkamas, which are eaten without the spring roll wrap.

A few pasta dishes will also be included like the pansit pusitinta, a variation of the usual pansit but with the squid ink sauce and some rice dishes like the rice ala Cubana from the traditional arroz ala Cubana cooked as fried rice.

For those into desserts, celebrity chef Jac Laudico also introduced six new additions to the sweets corner. She said she likes to take everyone back to their childhood memories thus creating yemma truffle, egg tart, cheese cupcake, kalabasa pastillas, alfajores and her current favorite, pineapple cookie tart. The desserts are in small servings to allow space for more food because as what they say, there’s always room for dessert.

All of these 23 new dishes and six desserts will be available at the hotel’s buffet and a la carte restaurant, Uno, starting today.
