MTRCB brings 6th child, family summit to Cebu
For the first time, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) will hold its annual Family and Child Summit in the Visayas and Mindanao.
Now on its sixth year, the MTRCB Family and Child Summit (FCS 6) will center on the theme “Cebu and its Place in Philippine Cinema History.”
The summit features the centennial celebration of the 100th year of Philippine cinema and the invaluable contributions of the Cebuano film industry in molding the landscape of Philippine cinema.
Personalities from the film and television industries, the youth sector, the students and teachers, the media, as well as partner government agencies and private organizations will gather on Aug. 10 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Social Hall, Cebu Provincial Capitol. Registration will start at 8 a.m. Nearly 1,000 students, academicians, and media practitioners will gather at FCS 6.
The summit will be highlighted by lectures and panel discussions from renowned resource speakers, including Queen of Visayan Movies and MTRCB board member Gloria Sevilla, professor Nick Deocampo, and director Jose Javier Reyes.
Participants of FCS 6 will also be treated to a free film showing of the proudly Cebuano-made, “Patay na si Hesus.”
A panel discussion on the film will follow after the screening.
