Quisumbing vows to step up peace and order efforts

-

Mandaue City Mayor Gabriel Luis Quisumbing assured the business community of his administration’s commitment to make it easy to do business in the city.

“This summit seeks to realign our priorities as a business sector to make sure that the City of Mandaue continues to make a responsive local government unit and to be able to provide a dynamic and working and evolving business community for all of those that seek to invest and participate in the business community in the City of Mandaue,” said Quisumbing, who attended the Mandaue Business Summit at the Oakridge Pavilion yesterday.

The summit is an annual conference hosted by the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry in celebration of the Mandaue Business Month.

Quisumbing said that peace and order in the locality is necessary to allow businesses to expand without their fear of crime and criminality taking over.

He also presented some of his plans for Mandaue such as health centers establishment in every barangay, new government center and removal of red tape.

“I want you to be assured that your local government is doing everything in its power to make sure that the City of Mandaue will be and will continue to be a leader for business and a leader for innovation in the province of Cebu,” said Quisumbing.

Quisumbing said that they need the MCCI and business communities to continue to tell them how to improve their jobs. He believes that through their help, Mandaue will eventually become the most competitive city in the country.

He added that the forum organized by MCCI was useful because they were able to interact with the business community and hear the concerns of individual businesses and the sectors they represented.

“We continue to work. We continue to do what we can to make sure that we are able to make Mandaue a peaceful city,” said Quisumbing.

“That is the city that you invested in and we want to make sure that you can sleep soundly knowing that you made the right choice investing in Mandaue City,” he added.

MCCI President Stanley Go also said that Mandaue is already competing with the players in the global arena.

With the theme: “Breaking Boundaries. Defying Limits,” the summit is a strong call for the members and participants to get out of the box in this period when industries are confronted by global challenges. /
