CARMEN COPPER SPECIAL AWARD. In recognition of its contributions through various projects for the Toledo City Jail under its Social Development and Management Program (SDMP), Carmen Copper Corp. was conferred a special award by the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology 7 during the latter’s 27th anniversary celebration last Aug. 10 at the City Sports Club, with the theme “Changing Lives, Building a Safer Nation.” Photo shows Engr. Carmen Copper also donated five water tanks and 100 pieces of vibrating screens for the Toledo City Jail Male and Female Dormitories, while the Carmen Copper Ladies Association Inc. during the previous years also donated electric fans and board game sets for their entertainment and gave out hygiene kits and free eye check-up and glasses to the inmates. Carmen Copper is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Atlas Consolidated Mining and Development Corporation. It has an operating agreement with Atlas Mining and it has exclusive operating rights over the in-site mineral resources and ore reserves of Carmen, Lutopan and Biga mineral deposits, collectively known as Toledo copper mine covering 1,674 hectares.
