■ BUY-BUSTS IN TALISAY NET P5.4M WORTH OF ‘SHABU’

-

Some P5.4 million worth of illegal drugs were recovered from nine suspected drug pushers in separate buy-busts conducted in two barangays in Talisay City last Wednesday night. It was the biggest drug haul recovered by the local police in Talisay City this year, said Supt. Marlu Conag, the police chief. Talisay City’s Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) operatives led by Conag were able to arrest Virgie and Robert Ababon, Antonio Abendan, Anthony Caballero, Jonathan Cabriana, Rey Camanian, Jeniel Jumao-as, Analiza Ligan and Jovely Naparate. They are considered as newly identified drug pushers, Conag said. The police were able to arrest the Ababon couple, Abendan, Caballero, Camanian, Naparate and Jumao-as during a buy-bust conducted in Sitio Hawod in Barangay Bulacao at 5:45 p.m. last Wednesday. Recovered from the suspects were several packs of suspected shabu worth P133,340. But their biggest haul for the day came three hours later when operatives arrested Ligan and Cabriana in Sitio Molave in Tabunok. Conag said Ligan and Cabriana are live-in partners who resided in Barangay Lagtang before they were arrested. Recovered from the two suspects were 26 small packs and two large packs of suspected shabu worth P5.3 million. Conag said they placed the suspects under surveillance for two weeks after receiving a tip on their operations. He added that they are trying to determine the source of the suspects.
