After 2 losses, UV looks to bounce back in Cesafi
Defending titleholder University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers looks to bounce back today after a dismal start in its campaign for a three-peat in the college division of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) basketball tournament.
UV faces off with Cebu Institute of Technology-University (CIT-U) Wild Cats at 5:30 PM today, while University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters Southwestern University (SWU)-Phinma Cobras at 4 PM at the Cebu Coliseum.
UV opened up its season with a 73-89 upset in the hands of University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars and then recently an 80-81 loss to University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Panthers.
RR Cauba hit the game win- ner after UV’s Bassieu Sackor was called for a goaltending violation in the waning moments of the game.
USPF big man Rich Managor had a huge game with 23 points, nine rebounds, three steals and three blocks to lead the Panthers to victory, while Cauba had 21 markers, five assists, six boards and two steals. Roy Quiachon added 10.
