Jerusalem eyes big­ger fights

One-time world ti­tle chal­lenger Melvin Jerusalem eyes a re­turn to the world stage with an im­pres­sive vic­tory against fel­low world ranked Toto Lan­dero on Sat­ur­day night, Nov. 10, in the main event of Idol 4 at the Minglanilla Sports Com­plex.

“I’m ready to re­turn to the world stage. That’s why I’m do­ing my best and work­ing re­ally hard to get an­other world ti­tle shot. I want to be a world cham­pion if given an­other chance,” said the 24-year-old Jerusalem, who’s ranked No. 3 in the World Box­ing Coun­cil (WBC), No. 12 in the World Box­ing Or­ga­ni­za­tion (WBO) and No. 15 in the In­ter­na­tional Box­ing Fed­er­a­tion (IBF).

Jerusalem lost a close unan­i­mous de­ci­sion to un­beaten WBC cham­pion Wan­heng Me­nayothin. /
