For­mer cam­pus scribes, law school alumni to hold Sin­u­log gath­er­ing

The mem­bers of The Visaya­nian Staffers Alumni As­so­ci­a­tion (VSAA) and Univer­sity of the Visayas (UV) Law Class ‘63 will hold their joint pre-Sin­u­log get-to­gether at 11 a.m. on Fri­day, Jan. 18, at the Ecotech Cen­ter in Sud­lon, Barangay Lahug, Cebu City.

VSAA mem­bers are for­mer stu­dent jour­nal­ists writ­ing for The Visaya­nian, UV’s of­fi­cial pub­li­ca­tion.

The groups’ ros­ter in­cludes re­spected jour­nal­ists like lawyer Pachico A. Seares, the for­mer ed­i­tor-in-chief and cur­rent pub­lic and stan­dards ed­i­tor of SunS­tar Cebu.

Other mem­bers are for­mer The Free­man pub­lisher Jerry Tundag, Jesse Ba­con and lawyers Ed­die Bar­rita, Fritz Quiñanola (who is also a re­tired po­lice gen­eral), Frank Mali­long and Elias Espinoza.

Bar­rita, Mali­long and Espinoza write col­umns for SunS­tar Cebu and Su­per­balita Cebu. In broad­cast­ing, Mali­long and Espinoza host the pop­u­lar talk show “Franka­hay Ta” on ra­dio dyCM.

For­mer Court of Ap­peals Cebu Sta­tion pre­sid­ing jus­tice Por­tia Aliño-Hor­ma­chue­los, for­mer Re­gional Trial Court judge Ben­jie Co­barde and for­mer ex­ec­u­tive la­bor ar­biter Rey Be­larmino are also part of the clique.
