EDUKASYON LAUNCHES VISAYAS OFFICE

-

EDUKASYON, the leading education technology startup in the Philippines, announced on Aug. 20, 2019 the official launch of its Visayas operations.

The new regional office, located in Cebu City, brings the company nationwide as its headquarters are in Manila and it has additional teams in Central Luzon and Davao.

The expansion of its operations to Visayas enables Edukasyon to actively engage with local students, as well as its growing network of more than 500 educational partners and 50 corporate and foundation partners.

Edukasyon was founded in 2015 with a mission to empower Filipino Gen Z youth (age 13-23) to make better-informed decisions about their education, career and daily life.

The technology platform’s holistic set of services allows students to directly inquire and apply to schools, browse thousands of higher education programs and courses locally, abroad and online, apply for scholarship opportunities, and access engaging student-centric content.

Edukasyon owns and operates the website www.edukasyon.ph, as well as www.finduniversity.ph, which it acquired earlier this year.

Ten million students now access the platform each year, representing half of Gen Z youth nationwide.

In 2018, nearly 750,000 student visitors originated from the Visayas region with an increasing volume of visitors in 2019. This showed a significant opportunity to help the youth on their path to quality education and sustainable careers.

More than 10 schools in the Visayas region have joined Edukasyon’s partner community to date, including Silliman University, University of San Jose-Recoletos, University of San Agustin, Southwestern University Phinma, Cebu Doctors’ University, Indiana Aerospace University, and several technical-vocational institutions.

Edukasyon chief executive officer and founder Henry MotteMuñoz said: “Cebu and the broader Visayas region are home to some of the country’s leading universities, proven by their students’ performance in various national board exams. By deepening our local presence, we aim to provide a platform for local schools and our campaign partners to engage with our growing youth audience. We believe all Filipino students should have access to opportunities that will set them on the right path, and expanding our team helps ensure we can build nationwide impact both online and offline.”
