-

As Central Visayas’ economy grows in staggering heights, the region’s housing industry continues to show bright prospects for developers and homeowners alike.

With this, the Subdivision and Housing Developers Association (SHDA) in Central Visayas is launching a series of activities which will form part of the Housing Summit 2019 to orient stakeholders on the developments of the housing industry and the new laws that will affect them.

With the theme “Pioneering Transition: Building the Pillars of Change,” SHDA-CV hopes to give a clearer picture of the the current socio-economic shifts and market potential particularly in the region with speakers from the local and national government, as well as the private sector.

The summit officially kicks off today, October 1, 2019, with the Housing Convention at the Grand Convention of Cebu.

The convention will tackle the local government of Cebu City’s vision and updates on business requirements and on the economic and infrastructure aspect, plus highlights and advantages of the new transportation system.

Also to be discussed are the aggressive construction programs of the government and their impact on the industry and the pillar agencies of the housing industry which will expound the updates on the new Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD).

On Oct. 10 to 13, 2019, a housing fair will be held in Ayala Center Cebu to create a venue for the developers to be more accessible to the housing market and address their home-buying needs.

It will be participated by premier developers together with HLURB-CVR and the PagIbig Fund (HDMF).

“Housing is every man’s heritage. Understanding fully that owning a home remains a top priority for Filipinos, we in SHDA continuously foster inclusivity and cooperation from all industry stakeholders. No matter the size -- socialized, low cost, mid or high end, a home is a home; it elevates the dignity and living standard of a family,” said engineer Loubna Grefaldeo, SHDA CV president.

SHDA is comprised of over 60 members from different industry developers and affiliates who aspire for every Filipino family to have a home.

Its aim is to foster a sustained housing industry through partnership and collaboration among the developers, government agencies and home financing.
