Solid love

- JOANNA CUENCO @cuencojoanna

“It is possible to do good while growing a sustainable business.” So shared Josine Marzo, Mandaue branch operator of Human Nature, the proudly Filipino brand that has become a household name across the country for natural, environmentally friendly and sustainable personal care products. The brand sources ingredients from rural communities and supports various enterprises under the Gawad Kalinga foundation to give less privileged Filipinos a better quality of life.

Human Nature first launched in Manila in 2008. The Mandaue branch opened the following year and is now celebrating 10 years of solid love for the Philippines, the poor and the environment.

The branch’s 10th anniversary is in perfect timing with the launch of Human Nature’s solid shampoo bar. Shampoo bars are becoming increasingly more popular as more consumers become environmentally conscious about plastic bottles, and/or want to go natural when it comes to personal care items.

Human Nature’s natural shampoo bar is made with cocoa butter, avocado oil and mild coconut surfactants to moisturize the hair and maintain its pH balance while cleansing gently.

The 70-gram bar’s longevity depends on the length and thickness of hair, but is roughly the equivalent of two 180ml bottles of liquid shampoo. That’s two less bottles going into the landfill or needing to be recycled. Using shampoo bars is also incredibly convenient when showering after the gym, traveling, or otherwise on the go. No more wasteful sachets, and one less liquid to worry about if it will fit the 100ml limit in your handcarry.

This is a great gift idea for Christmas. The brand also just launched its holiday bundles starting at only P199.50, already inclusive of a gift bag and card for less packaging and less time wasted compared to buying gift wrap.

Human Nature products are available through distributors and online. For the retail experience, visit the Mandaue branch on A.S. Fortuna St., just across

Oakridge.
