Cebu Pacific Air, the country’s largest lowcost carrier, invited media friends last month for a thanksgiving dinner held at bai Hotel. Spirits were flying high as guests enjoyed a vibrant Sinulog performance by the Knapsack Dancers, and a few lucky raffle winners went home with free flights to some of Cebu Pacific’s domestic and international destinations. Vice president for marketing and distribution Candice Iyog shared some exciting updates from the airline including the new ticketing office in Robinsons Galleria Cebu, and the purchase of Neo or “new engine option” aircraft which are up to 25 percent more fuel efficient.
Oakridge Executive Club is one of the more elegant, less expected venues in town if you want to impress a date or celebrate intimate business or family gatherings. Yesterday’s Wine and Dine Valentine’s special featured a special menu for lunch and dinner that included welcome drinks, a multi- course meal, glass of wine and Valentine’s gift. With this menu, dinner begins with a velvety butternut soup that is literally quite hearty as it is garnished with a heart-shaped crouton. This is followed by a salad of the freshest greens with feta cheese, cherry tomatoes, and special balsamic dressing, before moving on to the main course. Diners could choose among three filling entrees: Wagyu fillet mignon with grilled prawn and delicately crispy layered potatoes; pan seared salmon and prawn with herbed butter and lemon garlic sauce; or chicken served in the French style with pancetta and white wine, with creamy mashed potatoes. For a sweet finish is a petit fours of strawberry shortcake, meringue with fruit, a cream puff and chocolate cake.
I asked marketing communications manager Malou Mozo and marketing officer Justine Espina if the indulgent menu was available for the entire Valentine’s weekend, but it was only offered on Feb. 14.
