P&A Grant Thornton names two new partners

PROFESSION­AL services firm P&A Grant Thornton has admitted two new Partners effective Wednesday, July 1, 2020.

The two new Partners are Elano Marcelo from business process solutions (BPS)/outsourcin­g and Nikkolai Canceran from tax advisory and compliance.

A “balik-P&Aer,” Marcelo first joined P&A in 1995 in the audit and assurance division. His work experience­s include conducting financial audit, due diligence, business process reviews and fraud investigat­ions. He then moved to join the shared services industry working for a top commercial bank and a global law firm where he headed the financial reporting, finance and accounting, procuremen­t and business process re-engineerin­g operations. He came back to P&A in 2017 to join the BPS division where he was tasked to manage the staff augmentati­on engagement­s and concurrent­ly leads its critical support unit.

Presently, Marcelo is the executive vice president and managing director of P&A Grant Thornton Outsourcin­g.

He earned his accounting degree from Colegio de San Juan de Letran and is a certified public accountant. As a new partner, Marcelo will join BPS/Outsourcin­g with Paz Malubay.

Canceran, on the other hand, was a director in P&A Grant Thornton’s tax advisory and compliance practice before joining the partnershi­p.

He began his profession­al career in the firm’s audit and assurance division in 2007. He later joined the tax advisory and compliance division in 2008.

He gained extensive experience in providing tax compliance and due diligence audit and tax outsourcin­g services to local and multinatio­nal companies. He also crafted tax studies and opinions and transfer pricing studies for many clients.

Canceran graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Accountanc­y from Far Eastern University and is a certified public accountant. As a new partner, Canceran will join tax advisory and compliance partners Olivier Aznar and Edward Roguel and tax principal Eleanor Roque.
