COVAX TO REPLACE 3.6 MILLION EXPIRING VACCINE DOSES IN PH
The Covax Facility has vowed to replace for free some 3.6 million expired Covid-19 vaccine doses in the Philippines, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said. Duque has already discussed the matter with Covax Facility country representatives who vowed to replace the expiring vaccine with “freshly manufactured” doses with longer shelf life of about six to 12 months. Duque said the 3.6 million vaccine doses that were either donated or procured by the government is 1.46 percent of the country’s total vaccine inventory. He said it is still lower than the 10 percent indicative vaccine wastage rate set by the World Health Organization.
