Motorcycle rider rams into Fuente Circle fence, dies

A MAN died after he crashed his motorcycle into the fence of Fuente Osmeña Circle on Osmeña Blvd. in Cebu City past 11 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2022.

Abellana police traffic investigator Alvin Jacalan identified the fatality as Gabriel dela Cruz Catelo, who was 28 and a resident of B. Rodriguez St., Barangay Sambag 2, Cebu City.

Catelo was brought to Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center but he was declared dead by the attending physician.

Jacalan said Catelo was coming from the direction of Gen. Maxilom Ave.

The motorist was reportedly on his way home to B. Rodriguez St. when upon reaching the Fuente Osmeña Circle, he lost control of his motorcycle while maneuvering a curve and rammed into the fence.

Very fast

Catelo could have been driving very fast as he sustained severe wounds on his head due to the impact, resulting in his death.

The police also learned that the victim was not wearing a helmet.
