Child’s remains found in Carcar City

REMAINS of an infant were found in a bushy area outside a cemetery in Sitio Dapdap, Barangay Poblacion 3, Carcar City, southern Cebu on Wednesday morning, May 11, 2022.

Carcar City police chief Lt. Col. Ardioleto Cabagnot said a concerned citizen called their office to seek assistance after the discovery of the child’s remains at the back of the cemetery.

Cabagnot said the unpleasant smell coming from the area led residents to locate the remains that were placed inside a sack and eaten by a stray dog.

The infant’s severed head was found separately at a rice field in Sitio Baha-baha, Barangay Liburon, Carcar City.

The Carcar police are still conducting an investigation to identify the parents of the child.
