CCCI TO SUBMIT WISH LIST TO BBM ADMIN

The wish list includes policies and programs that are beneficial for the Cebuanos, including the Bus Rapid Transit, diversion roads, among others

THE Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) will soon submit its wish list to the incoming Marcos administration enumerating the impending projects for Cebu under the Regional Development Council (RDC) 7.

CCCI president Charles Kenneth Co said the chamber officers and its board will have to meet to draft a letter of support to presumptive president Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and at the same time outline the Cebu business sector’s wish list of policies and programs that are beneficial for the Cebuanos.

“We are talking about the impending projects under the RDC 7 such as the Bus Rapid Transit, diversion roads, and international port in Consolacion among others,” said Co. “With Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia, being an ally of BBM (Bongbong Marcos), hopefully, Cebu can get the fund it needs to finance these projects that we have been clamoring for.”

Marcos Jr. is the frontrunner in the presidential race with more than 31 million votes, based on the latest unofficial tally by the Commissions on Elections.

Besides making their wishes known to the Marcos administration, Co also called for unity among the Filipinos.

“It is the first time in our country’s history where there is an overwhelming majority. This is a good start for the BBM-(Sara) Duterte tandem because there is a wide base of support and it means their message of unity and their programs of making the Philippines great again truly have an impact on the people. I think that is what the Filipinos are clamoring for that, we should not be fighting against each other instead we should focus on improving ourselves and our country,” said Co.

Retail entrepreneur Robert Go, in a separate interview, also wished for the Filipinos to move on and accept the outcome of this year’s election.

But what he is hoping for is for the Marcos administration to appoint “brilliant and incorruptible economic managers and cabinet members.”

“He can still prove he is a different person than his father. He can prove that he is not corrupt. We just want good government,” said Go. /
