Zion Williamson

NBA superstar Zion Williamson obtained trademark registrations from the US Patent and Trademark Office for the “Zion Williamson” and “Zion” trademarks covering clothing, footwear, headwear, sports balls, downloadable video game software, headphones, jewelry, bottled water, energy drinks, online computer games, and for “Endorsement services, namely, promoting the goods and services of others.”

Zion filed a trademark opposition case against a trademark application for the “Zion Influencers” trademark which is intended to cover “Marketing services in the nature of promotion of third-party goods and services by social media influencers; Promoting, advertising and marketing of the brands, products, services, and online websites of individuals and businesses.”

Zion argues in his Opposition that he is an influencer in the sports world. The applicant for “Zion Influencers” has until May 24, 2022, to file an Answer to the Opposition. (mandourlaw.com)
