P8.2M shabu seized across CV in a day

UP TO P8.2 million worth of illegal drugs were seized in a day by operatives of the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO 7) in separate anti-illegal drug operations in the region on Tuesday, May 17, 2022.

At 12:45 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, members of the Provincial Drug Enforcemen­t Unit, together with the 1st Provincial Maneuver Force Company and Balamban Police Station of the Cebu Police Provincial Office, launched a drug bust in Purok 1, Barangay Arpili, Balamban town.

They arrested John Marlon Alunes Lausa, 33, a high-value individual from Barangay Bunga, Toledo City.

They seized from Lausa’s possession 110 grams of shabu with a standard drug price of P748,000, including buy-bust money.

At 2:31 p.m. of the same day, the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office, along with the Maritime police and Police Drug Enforcemen­t Group 7, nabbed a certain Davi Bendijo, 47, of Barangay Looc, Dumaguete City, in their joint operation in Purok Fatima, Barangay Bagacay, Dumaguete.

Bendijo yielded 100 grams of shabu worth P680,000.

In Cebu City, the Mambaling Police Station arrested Bryan Duallo Justol, 20, who was selling illegal drugs on C. Padilla St., Barangay Duljo-Fatima at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 17.

Seized from Justol were 700 grams of shabu worth P4,760,000.

In Bohol province, the Regional Police Drug Enforcemen­t-Central Visayas, assisted by the Tagbilaran City Police Station, arrested two more high-value individual­s in Purok 5, Barangay Tip-Tip, Tagbilaran.

The suspects were identified as Jezrel Aaron Estique Butalid, 38, and Mary Mae Pocot Pondoc, 26. Seized from their possession were 75 grams of shabu worth approximat­ely P510,000.

In Sitio Capaculan, Barangay Tisa, Cebu City, the PRO Central Visayas arrested Rocelito Parba Alcuizar, 38, at 10 p.m. Tuesday, for possessing 50 grams of shabu worth around P340,000.

Operatives of the Carbon Police Station in Cebu City also arrested two suspected drug pushers in separate drug busts in Barangay Ermita on Tuesday.

Maj. Kenneth Paul Albotra, chief of the Carbon Police Station, identified the suspects as Josemari Gines, 19, a resident of Sitio Bato, Barangay Ermita; and Ruel Belandres, 42, of Ermita Proper.

Albotra said Belandres was nabbed at 6:20 p.m. Tuesday in Sitio Ermita Proper, while Gines was collared at 8:30 p.m. in Sitio Bato.

He said the suspects have been considered as high-value individual­s.

Confiscate­d from the suspects were a total of 28 grams of illegal drugs worth P190,400 In Lapu-Lapu City, about P1 million worth of illegal drugs were seized by the Lapu-Lapu City police in a drug bust in Sitio Sta. Ana, Barangay Poblacion, Toledo City at 1:50 a.m. Wednesday, May 18.

Police identified the suspect as Christine Amodia Monte de Ramos, alias Tin of Tipolo, Barangay Awihao, Toledo City.

According to the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office, Monte de Ramos yielded 160 grams of shabu worth P1,088,000.

Monte de Ramos was allegedly included in the police’s drug watch list.

Local police said they operated on Monte de Ramos after a suspect from a previous drug bust admitted to her involvemen­t in their operations.

Brig. Gen. Roque Eduardo Vega, PRO 7 director, praised the police for their ongoing campaign against illegal drugs in the region.

The suspects have been charged with violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehens­ive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2022.
