you should check out in 2022

The reopening of Cebu’s nightlife spots, and the launching of new ones is proof that Cebuanos are probably genuinely good at having a good time.

With the Cebuanos’ love for dancing, partying and hanging out with friends and acquaintances, everyone—including tourists—is most likely to experience some really fun and sometimes wild (but in a positive way) parties.

Cebu has a wide selection of bars, clubs and lounges that offer great music by talented and renowned DJs and local artists, good company, unique drinks and one-of-a-kind vibe that you will only find and experience in Cebu.

Ahead are places you should check out when you’re looking for a fun night! Don’t forget to still follow minimal health protocols because Covid-19 is still around.

If you fancy Singapore’s Cé La Vi which is perched on the 57th floor of Marina Bay Sands’ rooftop, then Verified Lounge is the perfect place for you.

Verified Lounge, Cebu’s premier sky lounge, is an outdoor oasis with sweeping city views, five-star service, delectable meals that pay homage to Filipino cuisine, handcrafted cocktails and ethereal beats courtesy of local artists or DJs.

This premier sky lounge is also the best spot to witness sunsets.

La Plage Club is the only premier pool club in Cebu, and closely resembles Manila’s The Placed Pool Club. It is home to some of the best of the local and international DJs. The 5,500-square-foot poolclub features jacuzzis, cabanas, swimming pools, VIP rooms and a restaurant that offers mouthwatering meals.

What makes La Plage Club a great choice as your nightlife venue? Aside from its open-space and it being well-ventilated, Cebu’s premier pool club limits its guests daily to ensure that everyone can practice social distancing, and enforces a lot of safety measures.

Inspired by Italy’s piazza, Asmara Urban Resort and Lifestyle Village’s vision is to be a place where people can meet, eat, share good times and immerse themselves in a tropical landscape.

Its carefully designed U-shaped cafe that serves rich-tasting Asmara signature espresso and cappuccino, and natural and detox juices transforms into one of the best cocktail bars in the city. Called The Asmara Gravity Bar, it serves a variety of classic and experimental cocktails that promotes a balance in the night scene of this tropical gem in the city.

Who doesn’t want unlimited drinks? This hybrid hangout place offers unlimited sangria, and frozen margarita which is perfect for that Friday or Saturday night vibe—making X Marks The Spot the only place that offers unlimited drinks in Cebu. It even has a cart dedicated for its gin offerings. It also boasts signature cocktails, such as X lover, a mix of gin, passion fruit, honey lemon and red wine; and X highball, a Sakura-inspired drink made of white rum, lemon, watermelon and tonic water, to name a few, concocted by its head bartender.

Aside from being a venue to local DJs, X Marks the Spots is also a home to album listening parties of local artists.

It’s salsa time! Aside from its authentic Mexican dishes and contemporary ambience, Maya Mexican Restaurant is also best known for its Salsa Night and Latin dance party. This Mexican restaurant owned by Abaca Baking Company is probably the closest you will get to experiencing the “United Mexican States.”

On top of those mentioned above, Maya Mexican Restaurant is also known for its wide-ranging drinks, boasting a collection of the best Blanco which is bottled immediately after distillation, Reposada which is aged less than a year, Añejo, and Tequilas that most of which are unavailable anywhere else in the country. It also has 110 kinds of 100 percent blue agave tequilas, the largest collection in the country.

If you are looking for a place where the crowd is always lively, the music is great, and DJs play non-stop good music, Trademark Cebu is the place to visit especially if you are in the mood to dance to some really bouncy tunes, as it brings San Francisco’s nightlife scene to Cebu. This bar is usually jam-packed on Friday and Saturday night, and Tuesday night because of its Taco Tuesday theme.
