Acqua marks return with wine pairing feast; unveils new menu
Shangri-La Mactan Cebu takes pride in its distinguished reputation for offering a myriad of exceptional gastronomic experiences and an unparalleled variety of cuisines.
After overcoming the pandemic and typhoon Odette, Acqua officially reopened its doors to the public on April 22, 2023, eager to unveil fresher and authentic Italian fare. Its return commenced with a unique wine-pairing event showcasing a line of fine wines from Rhône Valley by winemaker Luc Baudet and an expertly curated Italian full-course dinner by the resort’s newest Italian chef, Luca D’Amora.
Guests indulged in a sensory feast paired with exquisite wines like the Luc Baudet Côtes Du Rhône Rive Droite Blanc 2021, Clos de Centenaires Roussanne Blanc 2020 and the Côtes Du Rhône Rive Droite Rouge 2019, among others.
As Acqua proudly welcomed head chef Luca D’Amora, it also curated a contemporary and tasteful menu, highlighting delectable options.
Its new menu officially launched on Sunday, May 14, 2023, in time for this year’s Mother’s Day festivities. It features an assortment of culinary delights like Fegatini di Pollo, Tagliere di Salumi and Insalata di Mare as appetizers; pasta and risotto like Puttanesca, Vongole and Risotto Pere e Zola; and secondary courses like Rump Cap Wagyu and Grilled Lamb Rack.
To end the culinary journey on a sweet note, desserts and an array of regional Italian cheeses are sure to provide guests with a complete epicurean sojourn to Italy.
