PRC welcomes 72K new teachers
AS SCHOOL Year 2022-2023 is about to end, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Friday, May 19, 2023, announced the upcoming entry of over 72,000 board passers to the country’s roster of professional teachers.
The March 2023 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers resulted in 24,819 new elementary teachers who passed the exams. This represents 40.76 percent of the total 60,896 examinees.
There are also 48,005 new secondary teachers, representing 46.94 percent of the total 102,272 examinees.
“Of the 24,819 elementary teacher passers, 19,390 are first timers and 5,429 are repeaters,” said the PRC.
“For the 48,005 secondary teachers, 39,890 passers are first timers and 8,115 are repeaters,” the agency added.
Meanwhile, the results of 25 examinees have been withheld for the final determination of their liabilities under the rules and regulations governing licensure examinations.
The exam results of six other examinees were also withheld for further validation of their submitted documents.
The PRC advised board passers to register for the issuance of a professional identification card (ID) and certificate of registration.
Requirements include a Notice of Admission for identification; downloaded duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal; two pieces of passport-size pictures (colored with white background and complete name tag); two sets of documentary stamps; and one piece short brown envelope.
The PRC also said successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.
The dates and venues for the oathtaking ceremonies of the new successful examinees will be announced later, said PRC.
