‘Combat Sports Champions’ in Bogo City on May 26

IT’LL be an action-packed Friday for Bogo City as some of Cebu’s brightest prospects in combat sports clash in Combat Sports Champions - “Inception” on May 26, 2023 at the Amphitheater Bogo Public Plaza.

The show features different combat sports disciplines: MMA, kickboxing, Brazilian Jiujitsu (BJJ) and boxing.

Strive CCA-Methods’ EJ Patron slugs it out with fellow undefeated fighter Ronald Esgana of Mendiola Fitness and Martial Arts in the featured MMA fight.

MMA veteran Tonix Borres of JB Dream Fitness and Cebu Jiujitsu locks horns with Checkmat Philippines’ Rodel Lejarde in a Male Blue light featherweight No-Gi match in the main BJJ match.

The two other MMA fights in the show are Linboy Zapanta vs. Nathan Eldon Calica and Kirk Bulak vs. veteran John Eco.

In kickboxing, Gleco Forrosuelo trades leathers with Norman John Yrastorza, JC Alumios is fighting Renan Giltendez and experienced Renan “Flash” Noblefranca exchanges blows with Permen Canillo.

In other BJJ matches, Josh Ybañez takes on McDom Malawi, former MMA fighter Keith Acapulco faces former pro boxer Marjo Borres, Bonifacio Gelbolingo Jr. locks horns with Janssen Canturias, Shary Yap is up against Jopeter Cabrera, Zen Pacible is facing Johnrick Delima, Glecer Ofianga grapples with Geno Padilla, and Spencer Arsenal clashes with Olain John Tarcina. Katrina Bacalso faces off with Mary Joy Davis, Harold Tabalino is fighting Wyn Hernando, Eric Earl Los Baños battles Liam Colina, and Alex Mabaquiao is up against Von Alquisalas.

The show also features 12 amateur boxing bouts. The show is free and kicks off at 4 p.m.
