SP continues winning ways

Snaps Cenro’s 3-game streak

-

THE Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) used a balanced attack to overthrow City Environment and Natural Resources (Cenro), 8973, and extend its winning streak to four games at the homestretch of the 76th Araw ng Dabaw – DACHEA Basketball Tournament Category A at the Almendras Gym Davao City Recreation Center on Monday.

SP pounded Cenro inside and out in the final half as the City Council-based dribblers moved up 5-2 and stayed firmly in the hunt for a final four spot.

Christopher “Bong” Go and Greggy Delica took the charge for SP that snapped Cenro’s three-game winning streak.

Delica came out relentlessly at the paint to finish the game with 25 baskets and Go, who averages close to 40 points a game going to this match, scored 22 points, including six three pointers.

Ryan Lomotos made 15 points for Cenro. Epe Decena and Kim Madera had 12 points apiece.

Cenro and SP battled persistently right from the opening buzzer with the latter only up by a hairline lead in a low scoring open- ing period, 13-12.

The tough battle marked with horrifying defensive stops from both teams continued until midway of the third canto before SP staged a late rally to take a 62-51 lead entering the pay off period.

Keeping in pace with the teams at the top, SP made it four games in a row since losing to City Treasurers Office (CTO) few weeks back.

The defeat of Cenro at the hands of the rejuvenated SP squad left City Civil Registrars Office (CCRO) as the only undefeated team in the league. RICO JHONE BILIRAN/VICE MAYOR’S OFFICE
