List of Tagum City’s new leaders now complete

TAGUM CITY, Davao del Norte – The list of new set of leaders who will help in unraveling Tagum City’s new chapter towards another era of developmen­t is finally known after the City Board of Canvassers (CBOC) of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) led by its chair Atty. John Paul Cubero finally proclaimed last Friday at 10 p.m. last May 17.

A total of 10 councilors will compose the 6th City Council of Tagum.

On May 15, the CBOC already proclaimed incumbent Vice Mayor Allan L. Rellon and Councilor Geterito Gementiza as the Mayor-Elect and Vice Mayor-Elect of Tagum City, respective­ly.

Proclaimed as city councilors last Friday are the following, based on their ranking: 1. Francisco Remitar (47,438 votes), 2. Alan Zulueta (42,856), 3. Nicandro Suaybaguio Jr. (39,802), 4. Oscar Bermudez (39,540), 5. Eva Lorraine Estabillo (35,749), 6. Macario Bermudez (34,980), 7. Tristan Royce Aala (34,293), 8. Agripino Coquilla (32,925, 9. Samuel Angoy (32,621) and 10. Fernand Bordios (32,601).

Tagum’s new leaders are set to take their oath of office on June 28 at the New Christ the King Cathedral, Gonzales Avenue along Sobrecary St., and will kick-off their three-year term starting on July 1.

Meanwhile, Mayor-elect Allan Rellon on Saturday expressed gratitude to Tagumeños through an ecumenical service dubbed as “Pasalamat Pag-Ampo” held at P.B. San Jose Gym, UM Tagum Campus.

In his remarks, the incoming local chief executive gave a preview of what his administra­tion will prioritize under his Eagle Wings Program, which he bannered during his campaign for the city’s top position.

Rellon also called for unity and cooperatio­n among Tagumeños.

Outgoing Mayor Rey T. Uy, on the other hand, also expressed his support to the incoming administra­tion.

In a TV interview and through his public address to the city government employees during their Monday’s flag raising ceremony, the three-termer mayor said it’s his obligation as a Tagumeño to support the Rellon administra­tion.
