Free seminar on livestock raising held

IN line with the celebration of farmers and fisherfolk month this May, the Department of Agriculture is conducting free seminar on livestock raising, starting today until Friday,

The free seminar will be conducted at DA regional office on Bangoy St., Davao City from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Schedules are as follow: Tuesday morning, hog raising with Louie delos Reyes as speaker and seminar on Broiler and Game Fowl raising in the afternoon.

On Wednesday, from 1 p.m., there will be seminar and updates on swine technology; Thursday at 8 p.m. will be the seminar on Quail Egg production and marketing with Leo Parreno which will be followed by Poultry and swine raising management seminar.

At 1 p.m., there will be farm games along with seminar on meat processing contest.

On Friday at 1 p.m., there will be product presentation by Unahco on farm and livestock waste management innovation/technology.

Regional technical director and Livestock Division chief Rafael T. Mercado said that these free seminars on livestock production are conducted to help the livestock producers boast their income.

He said that aside from the technical support that they will be gaining, they

will also be connected with other livestock producers in the region to help them find markets for their produce.
