2 nabbed in buy-bust

POLICE arrested two suspects and confiscated some P400,000 worth of shabu in separate operations in Davao City Wednesday.

Davao City Police Office Investigation and Detection Management Branch (DCPOIDMB) led by Sr. Insp. Leonardo Pamplona, along with SPO3 Jeffrey Bangcas and three other police officers with the supervision of Supt. Antonio Rivera launched the buy-bust operation at around 5:30 p.m. which resulted to the arrest of Cecelia Dait Harani, 44, in her house at sitio Punta, Purok 1, Brgy. 76-A Bucana.

Police arrested the suspect after she handed out an elongated heat-sealed plastic sachet to a police officer who acted as poseur buyer.

Recovered from Harani were a sachet of shabu and the P1,000 marked money. Also seized were 24 pieces of elongated sachets of shabu.

Bangcas, in an interview

with Sun.Star Davao, said: “Pagdakop namo kay Harani nitugan siya kung asa iyang source and nagkataon pud nga taga-didto ra pud diay bantog nagconduct na dayon mi ug operation, (After we arrested Harani, she was able to provide information about his source and it happened to be that her source was also within the area so we conducted another operation).”

Personnel then proceeded to the residence of one Anaima Andong Baraguir, 24 and married. Police arrested Baraguir as she was caught in the act of repacking suspected shabu in her residence.

Seized from Baraguir were 10 pieces teabag-sized sachets and 19 pieces elongated plastics sachets containing shabu.

All the seized illegal drugs had an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) street value of P400,000.

Bangcas said they have conducted a three-week surveillance on the suspect after conducting the buy-bust operation.

“A concerned citizen provided the information so we consolidated the information by evaluating the suspect if it’s a highly actionable target, We evaluated that the suspect has a deep involvement in illegal drugs so we conducted the operation,” Bangcas said.
