Belo to set up clinic here

BELO Medical Group director Dr. Vicky Belo yesterday said they will soon set up a branch of its clinic in Davao City as part of their expansion and in response to request by their clients from Mindanao.

She said in yesterday’s opening of the 9th VisMin Drugstores Business Conference held at SMX Convention Center in SM Lanang Premier that they presently scouting for possible location where they can set up the Davao branch of the Belo Medical Clinic.

Belo, who was conference’s keynote speaker, said they have a lot of clients from various areas in Mindanao, particulal­ry from Cotabato, who have been flying to Manila to avail of the clinic’s services.

“They (our patients) said they would love it (if we set up a clinic here in Davao City)” she said.

She said if this materializ­es, she will convince some of her doctors in Manila to relocate in the city to serve their prospectiv­e clients in Mindanao.

During the conference, Belo also discussed with small-medium drug owners from Mindanao and Visayas about the proper marketing of their brands so that they’ll be able to reach their target market.

The Davao City chapter of Drugstores Associatio­n of the Philippine­s hosted the two-day business conference which will be concluded

today. With the theme, “Expand, Explore and Experience,” the conference, which gathered at least 300 delegates from 200 small-medium drugstores the Visayas and Mindanao, is being sponsored by three leading pharmaceut­ical companies in the country -Pfizer, Pharex and Unilever.

Overall convention chair Carolyn Uyboco-Carreon, owner Amesco Drug Corp., said the conference is the right venue to tackle various issues faced by the industry.

She also said that it is an opportunit­y to open up new business relationsh­ip between pharmaceut­ical companies and the smallmediu­m drug owners.
