THE Private Schools Athletic Association (Prisaa) National Games 2014 will be held in Tagum City this coming April 6-12, 2014.

During the Davao Sports Writers Association Forum Boy Sarabia, Prisaa 11 Region XI executive director, said this will be the first time that a city in Region XI will host the event.

During the ocular inspection of the 16 regional presidents of Prisaa, Sarabia stated that they were impressed with the venues in the city especially with the Davao Del Norte Sports and Cultural Complex. He also added that the accommodations for the athletes will be near their sporting venues.

This will also be the first time that some events will be played in the evening like the swimming events, track events, and soccer. Sarabia said that this will benefit some of the athletes since they will be able to take a rest in the morning as they prepare for the afternoon and evening events.

Sarabia hopes that Region XI will have a higher placement in 2014 after they placed fourth in last year’s Prisaa. He added that it will be somehow difficult for the region to place higher this year since some of the region’s star players will be playing for the bigger regions. Region XI is not the only one experiencing this problem but also the other regions.

He also mentioned in the forum that he plans to propose to include paragames in the PRISAA.

Prisaa is an association of athletic departments of private schools, Christian schools, and home schools in the Philippines. It was founded in February 17, 1953 and organized by then Bureau of Private Schools Director Dr. Manuel Carreon.
