13-T jobs up for grabs in Kalayaan Job Fair ‘13

THE rregional office of the Department of Labor and Employment (Dole 11) yesterday announced a total of 13,312 job vacancies will be offered to jobseekers in this year’s edition of Kalayaan Job Fair on June 12 at Abreeza of the Ayala Malls and NCCC Mall of Davao.

Dole 11 director Joefry Suyao said that as of yester- day, there are 1,425 local job vacancies and 11,887 for overseas.

There will be 35 particicip­ating companies at Abreeza and 34 at NCCC that will offer local jobs. For overseas jobs, these will be offered by 23 employers and agencies at Abreeza and 16 at NCCC Mall.

He said Business Processing Outsourcin­g related jobs such as call center agents remained to have the most vacancies in the upcoming job fair. He said that during the Labor Day job fair, BPO com- panies hired the number of applicants with at least 500.

Other in-demand jobs are salesman or saleslady, product specialist, customer service assistant, sales clerk, driver, service crew, technical support staff, cashier, production worker or factory worker.

Moreover, Suyao said Dole is targetting to surpass the 2012’s 55 total job fairs which the agnecy had co-sponsored other than the three major job fairs it initiated, namely the Labor Day Job Fair, Kalayaan Job Fair and the Dole Job Fair in December.

Suyao said that there will also be job fairs scheduled on June 29 in Tagum City to help victims of Typhoon Pablo especially in Davao del Norte and Compostell­a Valley.
